A word about wording

Usually, all the info about venues and timings comes on a separate card. LongLiveLove have put all that vital information on the back of the invite, where it can't get lost. Much simpler.

What you write, and how you write it, is up to you. But here I'd like to offer a simple guide to creating some wording for your invitation.

1. Host and request line

Who is hosting the big day? Is it the happy couple? Or their parents? Whoever it is, they should be named here.

You may choose to address your guests with the printed word "you", which covers any number of people. Or if you wish to personalise your invite, we can leave a space for each guest's name to be handwritten.

Line variations:

a) Nina Kingman and Tom Smith invite
you insert handwritten name(s)

b) Nina and Tom invite you / insert handwritten name(s)

c) Together with their families, Nina and Tom invite you / insert handwritten name(s)

d) Mr. and Mrs. John Kingman

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

Nina Kate to Tom Smith

e) Nina and Tom request the pleasure of your company

f) Nina and Tom request the honour of your presence

2. What type of union?

To complete the sentence, we need to know how the happy couple wish to describe their joining together. Is it a wedding, a marriage, a union or a civil partnership?

Line variations:

a) to celebrate their wedding / marriage /
union
/ civil partnership

b) to celebrate our wedding / marriage /
union
/ civil partnership

c) on the occasion of their wedding /
marriage
/  union / civil partnership

d) to join us in celebration of our
wedding / marriage / union / civil partnership

3. Ceremony venue

Name and address of your ceremony location

4. Date and time

Spell out the day, month, year and time.

Or simply use numbers.

5. Reception venue

Name and address of your reception location.

Line variations:

a) and afterwards at venue name

b) followed by a reception at venue name

c) followed by dinner and dancing

at venue name

6. The details

There's no need for a separate card to list all the details. We've allocated room for it on the back of the invite.

But are there further details you'd like to include? Here is the place to do it. The layout may be affected accordingly, and please do not exceed 150 words.

Please reply / RSVP

Separate RSVP cards are available from LongLiveLove. But if you choose not to purchase them, please supply the name and contact details of the hosts.
